I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and over 8 years of comprehensive clinical experience. I work with adults, teens, tweens, and families. I work with divorced and single parents, blended families and see people of every race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation.
I have a particular passion and expertise for working with teenagers as they struggle to define their identities, cope with the rapid physical, emotional and psychological changes that take place within them, and adjust to the demands of peers, schools, families, and society. When seeing Teenagers, I tend to work collaboratively with parents, the family, school counselors, pediatricians, and others to provide an optimum level of care. I incorporate a varying amount of family work when seeing adolescents as I find this to be a powerful medium for lasting change.
I provide a non-judgmental and compassionate atmosphere in which you can safely explore and work through feelings, thoughts, images, and beliefs, conscious or unconscious, that may be keeping you stuck. I am eclectic in my orientation and offer a holistic, integrative approach to client-centered therapy, using traditional psychodynamic and family systems work, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I enjoy infusing the process with creativity, imagination, and humor, along with practical solutions and concrete goals. I also work collaboratively with physicians, psychiatrists, nutritionists, and educators to assist in providing optimum results.
